The First 7 Drops mark the beginning of MZL 7 Space Shop — our introductory collection, always available, and always growing. In many ways, beginning with the first seven drops — and at first, the first seven paintings — is an act of humility. We have no interest in bursting onto the scene as some big, hot, flashy new brand, because that is not what we are. We have had a real journey of growth, and we are going to begin there. From the roots. If that looks childish or even amateur to some, then by now you should know that MZL has never, and will never, shy away from being less than glossy, shiny, and perfect, because we are true to our reality. Whether it is taboo or beautiful.
What comes next is an evolving body of work: new drops, fine art, fresh themes, collections, and collaborations across disciplines, geographic locations, cultures, and identities. This shop, like everything MZL creates, never truly begins and never ends.
It's divine intervention and inspiration. And we will always honour that.

The Homebody Drop
THE FIFTH DROP
This is our fifth drop. Welcome to the MZL 7 Space Shop.
The Homebody Drop begins with a house and a diagnosis.
The house is the Rietveld Schröder House in Utrecht, built in 1924 by Gerrit Rietveld as a physical realisation of De Stijl, the Dutch movement that Piet Mondrian helped define. De Stijl reduced the world to primary colours, red, blue, yellow, held in place by black lines and white space with no room for decoration. Rietveld took that language off the canvas and into architecture: flat planes of colour, walls that slide open, a building that refuses to separate inside from outside. That same precision runs through MZL's artwork. Colour in this body of work is structural, not atmospheric, and the Homebody Drop carries it into every object in the collection.
The diagnosis is Bipolar I. Years of it. The kind that creates periods of profound isolation, not chosen, not temporary, not easy. The Homebody Drop is a direct response to that experience and to the question it forces: if you have to be inside, how do you make the inside matter?
Artists have always answered this. Kusama working from within a psychiatric facility. Kahlo painting flat on her back. Goya covering the walls of the house he could not leave. The act of making deliberately, with care, inside a constrained space is one of the oldest forms of resistance there is.
This collection is for that space. Apparel to wear inside your own home with intention. Candles that mark the hour. Blankets, rugs, and objects designed to make the room you are in feel like it was chosen. Fifty-two products across clothing, homeware, and candles, all carrying original MZL artwork, all made on demand.
The inside, made deliberate. The window, always open.

Inaugural Drinkware Drop
THE FOURTH DROP
This is our fourth drop. Welcome to the MZL 7 Space Shop.
I started drinking alcohol at a young age but I lived in The Netherlands so that was quite normal. Alongside other mind altering substances. This drop is not a promotion for any of that as I’m now a completely sober person and have been for quite some time. I also always reiterate safety, responsibility, and legality, when discussing this part of my life: the message isn’t do whatever you want, it’s learn from what I’m sharing with you. I lived through these phases to cultivate a different relationship with what I now drink - partly because I am Bipolar and that means drinking alcohol is now out of the question - and partly because being able to let things go when they feel they’ve run their course is a superpower.
These pieces are functional, fun, self-promotional, and just a start, so no matter what you’re drinking the point of this drop is to integrate into your daily life and in a world full of so much stuff, so much noise: why not support a fine arts studio?

Non-Binary Drop
THE AGENDER CLOTHES
This is our third drop. Welcome to the MZL 7 Space Shop.
We were always going to do it. Clothing had to be a part of the store but we're not creating a fashion line or collection - not really. Not yet. We are releasing what can only be described as statements. Thankfully we are doing that with really high quality materials and great design but it's not meant to be seen as something you wear because it's the epitome of style. It's meant to tell the world that you are comfortable with being exactly who you want to be. That's the conclusion we had to arrive at when it came to reconciling with what gender identity means to us and whilst it is political and we cannot change that the expression doesn't always have to put the political lens first. You can say this is what I want to wear today, it stands for something you can find out about if you're curious, but it matters to me primarily, and that is the most important thing to me now. My own comfort in wearing what makes me feel like me.
We hope it makes you feel like yourself as well.

First Paintings
THE INTRODUCTORY FINE ART
This is our second drop. Welcome to the MZL 7 Space Shop.
These seven original acrylic paintings have been displayed on Shreya Tanisha's personal website (THE FOUNDER) for years now. We are going to be introducing many fine art print drops but before we moved on to future works we felt it was important to honor these initial paintings by making them available as Enhanced Matte prints.
There's three of each painting: one with a white background, one with a color background, and one with a black background. The earliest one is Singaporean Flowers, which was one of the first ever paintings made by Shreya and the rest are made over the years in various locations. So by first we mean first on here and on her personal website, not the first paintings she ever made.
